Antonia O. Ruiz, 93, of Fort Lupton, Colorado passed away on October 3, 2018. Antonia was born in Holly, Colorado to Jesus Oviedo and Francisca Oliveras.
Antonia married Angel Ruiz. They had four sons. She was a lifelong resident of Fort Lupton. She enjoyed gardening. She kept her yard full of flowers throughout the summer. She enjoyed growing Hibiscus. As you drive the surrounding blocks of her 7 street address, you still see the plants she shared with everyone. She spent many hours on her front porch where family and friends would come visit. Her home was always open to everyone.
Her earlier years were spent working the farm fields from Arizona through Colorado. Her four sons were able to experience that part of her life which helped in developing their lives. She was an honest woman, whose family played a big role in her life. She believed in God and was an active member at St. Williams Parish. She enjoyed the friendship of many lifelong friends. She was strong and overcame the shortfalls that life throws at you. She played a part in a lot of people’s lives by helping whenever and wherever she could.
Antonia has four sons, Ruben of Brighton, Leroy (Kim) of Jellico, TN, Raymond (Estella) of Fort Lupton, Sylvano (Agnes) of Fort Lupton. 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband Angel Ruiz, her parents, 3 brothers Pete, Ventura, Jimmy Oviedo, 4 sisters Mary Ruiz, Bennie Hernandez, Esther Castro, Jenny Montoya.
Antonia’s surviving siblings are; Phyllis (Tony) Bueno of Brighton, Trina (Ike) Nieto of Northglenn, Daniel Oviedo of Northglenn, Jessie Oviedo of Washington State.
