Beatrice Caroline Hitner

Beatrice Caroline Hitner, 104, of Brighton, Colorado, passed away on March 11, 2019. She was born on January 10, 1915 in Brighton, Colorado to Edmund and Hilda (Engler) Schnute. Beatrice attended Zion Lutheran School and was a 1932 graduate of Brighton High School. She married Kenneth B. Hitner on April 3, 1943 in Denver, Colorado.

A lifetime resident of Brighton, she lived on South Third Avenue most of her life and was one of the original telephone operators for Mountain Bell. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where she was baptized and confirmed.

Survivors include her children, Keith (Anna) Hitner of Riverside, WY; Kay (Ken) Doss of Montrose, CO; Stan (Mary) Hitner of Brighton, CO; Gary Hitner of Brighton, CO; Bill (Kari) Hitner of Las Cruces, NM; 7 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters and a grandson.

Funeral Service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2019 at Tabor-Rice Funeral Home, Brighton, Colorado. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Brighton, Colorado.
