Carole Louise Rice, 77, of Brighton, Colorado passed away in Brighton on November 16, 2017. She was born August 26, 1940 in Denver to parents Bertha and Floyd Slocum.
Carole was an ardent supporter of the youth in the community. Among her many activities, she served as a Girl Scout leader, 4-H leader, President of Adams County Regional Parks Commission, member of the board of the Brighton Agricultural Institute, and member of the school board for Brighton 27J.
She judged 4-H and home economic exhibits at many county fairs throughout the state and at the State Fair in Pueblo. Needless to say Carole enjoying doing arts and crafts in her spare time.
Carole was preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Bertha Slocum and brother Eugene Slocum. Survivors include her husband Alan, her brother Gerald Slocum (Nancy) of Chanhassen, Minnesota; daughters, Christine Delventhal (Kevin Martin) of Brighton, Charlene Lazaruk (Darren) of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and son Matthew Rice (Kelley) of Kremmling, Colorado. Carole is also survived by 7 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
Memorial Service is scheduled for Monday, December 4, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Tabor-Rice Funeral Home, Brighton.
