Coy Wayman Livingston was born March 23,1940, in Carbon, Texas, to Charlie Allen and Christena Ruth Livingston. He grew up in Cisco Texas, graduated from Cisco High School in 1958, and attended Cisco Junior College. In 1959, Coy relocated to Brighton, CO where he met Sharon Kay Knuffke. After marrying in 1960, the couple returned to Texas where their daughter Cheryl Ann, the first of their 3 children, was born. They moved back to Brighton in 1962, where siblings Kenneth Dean and Phillip Wayman were born.
Both Coy’s hobby and his career were cars. He and Sharon launched J and S Auto Body in Brighton in 1994. The successful business continues today under the management of Phillip Livingston.
Coy died at his home on September 23 after suffering a heart attack. He was preceded in death by his parents and son Kenneth. He is survived by his widow Sharon, two children, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a brother Stan.
A memorial service will be held on Friday September 28th at 11:00 am at Tabor-Rice Funeral Home 75 S. 13th Ave Brighton with a reception to follow Columbian Home Event Center 1096 E. Bridge St. Brighton.
