Donovan James Bowen

My Dear Sweet Son, Donovan James Bowen, has left this place to be with Jesus in Heaven. He was killed on Monday, August 7th, when his truck went over the side of Lookout Mountain. Donovan is survived by his maternal Grandmother Irene Mascarenas of Pueblo, his mother Debra Mascarenas of Brighton, his two children Sydney and mason Bowen of Wheat Ridge and one sister Dandrae (Nick) Valenzuela of Brighton and a large extended family.

Donovan lit up the room when he walked in! He had a great sense of humor and if you were to spend time with him, you could count on a good laugh.

Donovan loved his children more than anything and he lived for the days that they spent together. Dono loved the Broncos and never missed a game. He passed that love onto Mason, who is a great football player himself, and he made every effort to watch him play! I don’t know how much of a fan Sydney is of the game, but I know she loved spending time with her dad.

The last time we all spent time together was on the 4th of July. I remember him and his sister hugging and laughing in the kitchen. He loved her very much and that memory will be with me forever.

Donovan loved riding his Harley especially when he would go up to Lookout Mountain where he liked to meditate. Donovan loved cooking, smoking and grilling food for our family gatherings. He also enjoyed remodeling and helping his mother with numerous salons. He also liked helping his numerous family members designing and building.

Dono worked for ADT Electric for twelve years. He always spoke highly of all the guys he worked with. I know he had many close friends by the calls I have received from other colleagues. Thanks to all ADK for being there for him during his time of employment. I know he will be missed. It has been expressed that some of you would like to assist with Dono’s funeral expenses. We deeply appreciate your support and prayers!

The Service will be held on Monday September 4, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Tabor-Rice Funeral Home in Brighton.
