Lenore Anne Westermann

94 years ago in a little house on South 8th Street in Brighton Colorado Lenore Ann Westermann was born. At the age of 4 she and her family moved to the two story yellow house on the corner of Strong Street and 5th where she resided for the next 90 years.

Lenore was a lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Church in Brighton where she was baptized and confirmed. She attended Zion Lutheran School from 1st through 8th grade. She then attended Brighton High School which at that time was located at the corner of 8th Street and Bridge. After high school graduation she continued her education by attending Colorado University in Boulder, Colorado where she honorably graduated Phi Beta Kappa. After graduating from the university and having had an emphasis in Spanish, she was hired by Great Western Sugar Company as a translator and interpreter for the laborers who came in the summer to work in the beet fields. She was eventually hired as secretary to the president of Great Western Sugar and moved to their offices in downtown Denver. She completed her career by retiring as the vice president of Great Western. During her retirement she traveled with friends, welcomed neighbors, delivered Meals on Wheels and always showed love for her family. Lenore was preceded in death by her parents Ernst and Anna, a brother Edwin Westermann, and sisters Annette Waiss and Irma Bettger. She is survived by a brother Ernst (Bud) (Jeanne) Westermann of Loveland. She is also survived by her "niblings" as she affectionately called them: James (Sue), Paul, and Timothy Bettger, Pam (Dennis) Keith, Christine (Preston) Gilson, Eric Westermann, Andrea (Lonnie) Sheldon, Fred (Verlene) and William Waiss. She is also survived by a plethora of great and great great nieces and nephews.

Some 94 years ago at her baptism, Lenore was promised a Crown Of Life. Today she has received it. Go in Peace.

A memorial service will be held on November 25th, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Tabor Funeral Home at 75 South 13th Avenue in Brighton, Co. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran School, 1400 Skeel Street Brighton, Co 80601
