Anthony Vasquez Obituary

Anthony J. Vasquez, 96, of Denver, Colorado passed away August 16, 2019 at his home.  Anthony was born on October 13, 1922 in Greeley, Colorado to Felix and Guadalupe (Martinez) Vasquez.  He attended public schools in Greeley.  On October 20, 1950, Tony married Stella A. Houle in Moorhead, Minnesota moving to the Denver area in 1966.  While in Minnesota, Tony worked as a commercial painter for Boeing Aircraft.  After moving his family to Denver, he worked as a butcher for Pepper Packing House but his true joy came working as a neon sign artist.

Mr. Vasquez was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church of Denver.  A true family man, he loved spending time with family and hanging out with his grandkids.  Tony loved Mexican music, dancing and playing bingo.  An incredible work ethic and true sense of survival reflected in his long life of 96 years.

Survivors include his children, Louis Martinez and Jeannie Martinez of Mandan, ND, Vincent (Patsy) Vasquez of Denver, CO, Monte (Debra) Vasquez of Pueblo, CO, Sharon (Larry) Blazer and Bonnie (Reynaldo) Medina of Henderson, CO, Linda (Ralph) Romero of LaVeta, CO, Lionel (Beverly) Vasquez of Arvada, CO, Esmeralda (John) Lujan of Henderson, CO, Guadalupe (Amado) Padilla of Denver, CO and Russell (Arlene) Vasquez of Arvada, CO.  He is also survived by 25 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great grandchildren.

Anthony is preceded in death by his wife Stella Vasquez; grandsons, Vincent Vasquez, Antonio Vasquez and Alexander Vasquez; and his beloved sister, Frances Medina.

Rosary will be recited on Monday, August 26, 2019, beginning at 5:00 p.m. with Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, August 27, 2019, at 10:00 a.m., all at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 4200 Federal Boulevard, in Denver, Colorado.  Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
