Darrell Alan Driskell

Saturday, September 28th, 2019, at 12:30am at his home in Hudson, Colorado, surrounded by family, prayers and singing, Darrell Alan Driskell was taken home to be with his Lord at the age of 63.

Darrell was born on May 24th, 1956 in Newcastle, Wyoming to Warren D. Driskell and Rachel Lavanche (Cash) Driskell. He was the second born of 4 children; his elder sister Myrna, and two younger brothers, Marlin and Mervin. He lived his early years in Rapid City, SD and Upton, WY then moved to Casper, WY for his school years. His senior year, the family moved to Denver, CO. Following graduation in 1974, Darrell attended 3 years at Denver Baptist Bible College. He then completed a Bachelor’s degree in Mineral Land Management at Colorado University, Boulder in 1981.

During his schooling years, Darrell held a job at Burger King for 10 years. Following an unfruitful search finding employment in his field of study after graduation, he ultimately took a job managing stores for Radio Shack, a job he continued for 10 years.

 In 1977, Darrell met his future wife, Julia Rae Price, at Littleton Baptist Church. He asked her to marry him in 1983, then was married on April 21st, 1984. This union was blessed with four children, Jeremy Alden, Cristina Raenell, Kimberly Marie, and Zachary Ryan.

In December of 1991, Darrell began working for Federal Express- first as a night shift, part-time Material Handler while still working his day job at Radio Shack, then full-time as a Computer Technician. He loved his job and faithfully executed it until his illness escalated only a month before his death.

Darrell was preceded in death by his parents Warren and Lavanche Driskell. He leaves behind his loving wife, Julie; his children, Jeremy Driskell, Cristina (Derek) Twigg, Kimberly (Andrew) Murray, and Zachary (Grace) Driskell; and his grandchildren, Trenten and Rowen Twigg, and Mercy Driskell. He is also survived by his three siblings.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior, at Calvary Community Baptist Church located on 11980 Irma Drive, in Northglenn, Colorado 80233.  Graveside services at Heart of the Plains Cemetery, in Roggen, Colorado will follow the church services.
