Erasmo R. Becerra, Sr.

Erasmo R. Becerra, Sr., 95, of Ft Lupton, Colorado passed away on November 22, 2019. He was born on October 8, 1924 in Brownsville, Texas to Erasmo and Geneva (Ruiz) Becerra. Erasmo attended public schools in Brownsville, Texas. He married Tomasa Ramos on June 21, 1943 in Brownsville, TX. He worked as a custodian for Ft. Lupton School District for 25 years retiring in 1991. In conjunction with custodial service he worked security for Loya Security for over 30 years.

Erasmo has lived in the Ft. Lupton and Hudson area the majority of his life. He loved to sing his native music and work in his garden. He enjoyed reading the newspaper and watching his old western shows.

He is survived by children Erasmo Becerra, Jr. of Kansas; Lupe (Julio) Vasquez of Ft. Lupton, CO; Margarita (Jose) Sandoval, Albuquerque, NM; Cruz Becerra of Hudson, CO; Mary Lu (Hugo) Rodriguez of Ft. Lupton, CO; Daniel (Elida) Becerra of Ft Lupton, CO; Evangelina (Gerardo) Manriquez of Ft. Lupton, CO; Ernesto (Martina) Becerra of Longmont, CO; Dora Becerra of Thornton, CO; Oscar Becerra of Ft. Lupton, CO; and Leticia Becerra Chavez of Ft. Lupton, CO. Survivors also include 41 grandchildren; 70 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Tomasa in 1994; two sons Ramiro and Adam; and two daughters Vira and Carmen.

Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at St. Augustine Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Brighton, Colorado.
