Ernest Garfield Porterfield 89, of Lochbuie, left this earthly plane to join our heavenly Father on December 30th, 2019. He was born in the Appalachian Mountains to Ida Belle Simpson and Clinton Garfield Porterfield. 

Ernest was known as a fabulous story teller, a healer and a friend to all.  He spent his younger years travelling the globe as a buyer for a furniture business and taking part in the lives of his two daughters.  He found new life and love 28 years ago when he married Laura Porterfield. Ernest was an avid rock hound and used his finds to create amazing jewelry and pieces of art. He also became quite a good painter and you can find many of his works hanging in nursing homes around the area. One of Ernest’s favorite loves was his black labs and his kitties.

He is survived by his wife Laura Porterfield; brother Garfield Porterfield; sister Alice Thorn; daughters Deborah Griffin and Tammy Martin; step daughter Colette Peterson; granddaughters Angel Montgomery and Sierra Martin; grandson Sebastian Kamer.
