Helen “Marie” Westlake, 95, passed away October 25, 2019, in Fort Lupton, Colorado.
Marie was born to Bert and Mary (Maloney) Hainline on July 25, 1924, in Denver, Colorado and was proud to remain a lifelong Colorado resident.
Marie married Albert Westlake, on January 21, 1943, and together they had two sons, Albert, Jr. and Edward. Marie’s primary focus was always on her family. Her husband was a POW during WWII, so she was presented with many challenges when he returned home. She worked various jobs while his health improved. Later, she helped set up mobile home parks and then managed them. She always enjoyed time with family, as well as, cooking, crafting and traveling.
Marie is preceded in death by her husband, Al; sons, Albert, Jr. and Ed (Judy); and sister, Edith (Bill) Sharp.
She is survived by her nephew, Roger Sharp; niece, Mary (Jeff) Bell; great niece, Sarah (Scott) Lemke and their two children, great nephew, Andrew Bell, all of Brighton; and grandchildren, Greg Westlake, Angie (Chris) McAneny and their two daughters, of Pennsylvania, and Becky (Chris) Anderson and their two daughters, of South Carolina.
Marie will be reunited with her husband Al as she is laid to rest at Fort Logan National Cemetery during a private ceremony.
