Michael, 33, of Brighton, Colorado, passed August 26, 2019, in Atlanta, Georgia.
Michael was born January 22, 1986 to Armando Zertuche and Josephine “Josie” Alvarez Tabcum, in Odessa, Texas. He lived in Odessa until moving to Brighton, Colorado in 1993. Michael graduated from Brighton Heritage Center in 2003.
He served in the U.S. Army and Army Reserves and was discharged as a Medical Logistic Specialist.
Michael was married and divorced to Allysa Arellano and stayed close friends with her.
Michael worked as a high-rise crane operator and traveled to many cities. He loved his work and took photos of the city skylines to show how high he was. He loved doing his job and would say he was “flying high” at the crane.
Michael loved his family. He enjoyed playing with his daughters and spending time with all of his family. He was a jokester, very fun loving, and was always smiling – his smile was contagious.
Second, only to his family, was his love for the Dallas Cowboys football team. He was a huge fan and often sported his favorite team jersey, especially on game days.
Other hobbies and interests, included music – Michael enjoyed singing; travel and fast cars.
Michael is survived by his parents, Armando M. Zertuche, of Brighton, Colorado and Josie Alvarez (Kwai) Tabcum, of Shawnee, Colorado; daughters, Lily M. Zertuche, Delilah V. Zertuche, and Kamila Zertuche, all of Brighton, Colorado; grandmothers, Gloria Martinez of Jal, New Mexico and Marie Alvarez, of Amarillo, Texas; siblings, Ricky J. (Priscilla) Rodriquez, of Hobbs, New Mexico, RJ Rodriguez, of Hobbs, New Mexico, Israel A. (Nichole) Zertuche, of Greeley, Colorado, Abel J. Zertuche, of Brighton, Colorado and Ryan P. Zertuche, of Brighton, Colorado; 21 nieces and nephews; and numerous aunts and uncles. Michael was preceded in death by his grandfather, Alvino Alvarez, of Amarillo, Texas.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday, September 8, 2019, from 3-7 p.m., with Funeral Services honoring Michael on Monday, September 9, 2019, beginning at 11:00 a.m., all at Tabor Funeral Home, 75 South 13th Avenue, in Brighton, Colorado 80601. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, in Brighton, Colorado.
