Alex D. Miller, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, veteran, and lifelong friend, passed away on June 2, 2025.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Ingeborg V. Miller; his children Claudia (David) Marvin, Ilona (Mark) Eurich, and Alex Jr. (Jane) Miller; and his grandchildren Lindsay, Erin, Taylor, Sarah, Zach, Jake, Megan, and Wyatt. He was also blessed with one great-grandchild, Kennedy.
Alex was one of ten siblings, born into a large and loving family. He was a proud brother to Stella, Donald, Wayne, Joseph, Richard, Ruth, Doris, Phyllis, and Carl—each of whom held a special place in his heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents Alex and Ruth and siblings Stella, Richard, Joe, and Wayne, who he now joins in peace.
A proud veteran, Alex served in the U.S. Army’s 7th Cavalry from 1962 to 1966. He was wounded in action but never let a few bullets slow him down. After a brief recovery, he went on to have a fulfilling career at the Federal Center, retiring in 2005.
Alex had a passion for the outdoors—he loved gardening and the occasional fishing trip. For many years, he enjoyed a cold beer and a good snort of whiskey. As the years passed, he gave up the whiskey but never lost his taste for a great beer.
