Alfred Russell Lemke, Jr., 63, of Brighton, Colorado passed away on March 8, 2006. He was born on May 20, 1942 in Staples, Minnesota to Alfred R. Lemke, Sr., and Mavis W. Dalen.
In 1952, he moved with his family to Brighton and graduated from Brighton High School in 1960. he married the former Karen Barber on June 7, 1963, and graduated from the University of Colorado in 1964.
For the last 15 years Al was the CFO and General Manager for Bradley Petroleum. He loved camping and taking yearly vacations to the Great Sand Dunes. Around home his favorite pasttimes included gardening and taking trips to Lamar's Donuts and Dairy Queen Ice Cream.
In addition to his wife Karen, Al is survived by his mother, Mavis, Brighton, CO.; daughter, Kirsten (Richard) Andrews, Westminster, CO.; son, Kirk (Becki) Lemke, Littleton, CO.; sisters Patty (Dan) Aultman, Westminster, CO. and Ginny (Bob) Bronaugh, Silver Springs, MD.; brothers, Bill (Sandy) Lemke and Rich (Guyla)Lemke, of Brighton, CO.
He is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Becca Fuhrman, Jonathan and Kiyanna Andrews, and Cameron, Kitzy, Allison, and Rachel Lemke. He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Russell Lemke, Sr., in June, 1996.
There will be a Memorial Service on Wednesday, March 15, at 10:00 A.M. at Brighton United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the church for either the Marriage Encounter or the sound system, 625 South 8th Avenue, Brighton, CO., 80601.
