Alice Louise Tolman

Alice Louise Tolman was born on August 12, 1952, in Brighton,Colorado to Fred and Mary Schissler. She was the youngest of five siblings - Bennie Schissler, Leslie Schissler, Kenneth Schissler, and Mary Lee Houdek.

Alice was married to Kevin Tolman on February 21, 1981 in a wedding at her home. She gave birth to two fine boys, Fred and Christopher. Her boys went to school in Brighton, and are now both serving their country in the U.S. Army. Fred married Kelly and gave Alice her two wonderful grandchildren, Nicholas and Alana.

Alice lived in Brighton all of her life and graduated from Brighton High School. She went to work at Great Western Sugar Company after high school until they closed the plant in 1984. She became a full-time home worker at that time and cared for the children of her friends and family. She started to work as a custodian for the Post Office in Hudson and Henderson a few years ago.

Alice was very active at Zion Congregational Church in Brighton, where she taught Sunday school, took part in the women's fellowship committee and loved playing the piano or organ whenever she had the chance. Her hobbies included knitting (she was active in a knit club), crocheting, gardening, bowling, and fishing. She loved watching the Bronco, Rockies, and Avalanche games. She especially enjoyed watching kids and visiting with her family.

Alice was a perfect wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and great-aunt, who was very active with all members of her family. She will be deeply missed by family and friends.
