Ana “Anita” Vasquez was born on June 2, 1943, in Mercedes, Texas, and was the eighth child of Julio and Angela Vasquez. Anita went home to her Lord on September 10, 2023.
Anita is survived by her three children Eddie (Valerie) Hernandez Jr, Ernie Hernandez, and Leslie Lawler, her grandchildren; Ernie Jr, Eddie Ray, Alex, Tiffani, Jonah (Abigail), and Javon; her three great-grandchildren Zarius, Dayszi, and Esperanza; her siblings, Enrique (Sofia) Vasquez, Santos Centeno, Ernesto (Soki) Vasquez, Lupe Pena, Belinda (Ernie) Romero, and Ricardo (Donna) Vasquez; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and generations to come.
Anita is preceded in death by her loving parents, Julio and Angela Vasquez; siblings, Julio Vasquez, Estella Herrera, Herminda Contreres, Mary Ortiz, Concepcion Delia Vasquez, Joseph Vasquez, and Rene Vasquez.
Anita lived most of her life in Colorado, with close connections to her family in Texas. She spent most of her career days as a caretaker for both adults and children. Anita was a loving daughter, a caring sister, amazing mother, welcoming aunt, warm grandmother, gentle great grandmother, fun cousin, and genuine friend. Anita was a very special lady to everyone she met. She will be missed and remembered always.
