Aneda Marie Marquez, of Brighton, Colo., passed away peacefully at her home, in the arms of her husband, surrounded by her children and grandchildren on Sunday, March 1, 2020. Aneda was born August 4,1929, in Anton Chico, N.M. to Luperto and Felipita Morales. She attended public school in Las Vegas, N.M. until the family moved to Brighton, Colo. Aneda married David Marquez on September 27, 1948; they made their home in Henderson, Colo. for the 27 years they were married until his passing. Aneda was a loving and supportive wife and mother as they built the family business “Dave’s Auto Body” together. Their business, love of family, and high value of friendship attracted thousands to them during these years.
Aneda celebrated life alongside her best friend and husband of 38 years, Antonio Wong Verona. She continued the legacy of love by attending every wedding, birthday party, baby shower, anniversary, graduation, and celebration to which she was invited. Our beautiful mother and grandmother never turned down an invitation. If two things were going on at once she simply had to make a choice. When she wasn’t at one of these celebrations she was at a sports event or school program with her grandchildren; on vacation with her daughters; at church; at a picnic; and the list goes on. The memories she created by showing up to everything for everyone are endless.
Aneda is preceded in death by her first husband, David Marquez; her daughters: Lorraine Robinson (Keefe), and Annette Garcia (Ed); her brothers: Micel, Leo, Severo, Joe, and Roy; her only Sister Selestina (Sally) Abeyta; and a host of in-laws, extended family and friends
Aneda leaves behind, her husband Antonio Wong Verona; her children: Beatrice Kavanaugh, Andy Marquez, Julie Ramirez (Augustine), Bennie Muniz, Rosalie Marquez, Nancy Tate (Derwood); 27 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many relatives and friends.
