It is with profound grief that we announce the passing of our beloved son, nephew, and grandson, Antonio Rey Hernandez. Antonio tragically lost his life in a car accident on October 3rd, 2025. Antonio was 22 years old and was born on March 22nd, 2003, at Platte Valley Medical Center in Brighton, CO, to Kaela Suzette Abbott and Alejandro Antonio Hernandez.
Antonio was a remarkable young man whose intelligence and determination shone through in all he did. He graduated from Fort Lupton High School. Antonio earned his diploma with honors and was awarded a scholarship for his dedication and talent on the football field. He was known for his strong will, self-discipline, and underlying work ethic. Antonio’s commitment to excellence was evident not only in his academics and sports but also in the way he carried himself in life.
After graduation, he made a life for himself working in construction. He received his flagger certification and eventually ran his own crew.
More than just his achievements, Antonio was a warm-hearted and caring soul. He was always ready with a kind response or helping hand. His smile was radiant, his warm eyes and quiet strength made everyone who knew him feel valued and loved. Antonio’s presence could light up any room. He left a lasting impact on those around him with his respectful nature, kindness, and compassionate spirit.
Antonio is survived by his loving grandmother, RoseAnn Hernandez, his sisters Anna Mari, and Olivia, aunt Angelica, and parents Kaela and Alejandro. His life, so full of potential, was taken too soon. Antonio will be remembered, and his legacy will live on. May his warmth and love continue to inspire the people he loved and who loved him.
