Balbina G. (Garcia) Gonzalez

Balbina G. Gonzalez was born March 31, 1937 in Laredo, TX to Carmen and Herlinda Garcia.  She was the youngest of 10 siblings.  She spent her childhood and young adulthood in Laredo with her family and devoted much of her early life to taking care of her siblings and loved ones. 

While Balbina dedicated herself to her family, she caught the eye of a young man who was walking past her family’s home.  It was this young man that would sweep her off her feet and the two would fall in love. On March 21, 1965 she married the love of her life Victor A. Gonzalez.  The two had 3 children and lived in Laredo for 7 years before moving to Colorado to have their 4th child and complete their family.

Balbina enjoyed her days spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She loved playing Bingo, Loteria and taking trips to Central City.  She also enjoyed listening to her Tejano music program every Sunday and watching Telenovelas.

Balbina is survived by her children, Victor (Lydia) Gonzalez Jr., Herlinda Gonzalez, Ana (Bruce) Cardenas, Alfonso (Naomi) Gonzalez, along with 12 grandchildren, Victor III, Ruben, Benjamin Jr., Victoria, Laura, Dora, Rosie, Sydnie, Elijah, Deandra, Mia, Isaiah and her 14 great grandchildren, Alyia, Kaydence, Kara, Amiana, Benjamin III, Isaiah, Mia, Josue, Elijah, Avelyna, Olivia, Triniti, Eleanor, Penelope.  She is preceded in death by both her parents, her husband and 8 siblings.
