Barbara Nolin Obituary

Barbara Nolin better known as Grammy and Grammy the Great was born August 16th, 1939 in the back of the family store in Gotebo, Oklahoma to James P Casady and Lillian (Sanve) Casady. She was welcomed by her siblings LeRoy, Doris and Vernon.

Barbara was born at the end of the Oklahoma Dust Bowl and that was the experience that formed her character and lifelong habits. Her family moved to Las Animas, Colorado, La Junta, Colorado, and North Platte, Nebraska finally settling in Greeley, Colorado.

Barbara was a lifelong steward of the Lord and received Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at the age of 10.

When Barbara moved to Greeley she met Fred Miller at a church camp and they made future plans to go to the mission field after they were married. Debbie arrived and plans changed. Debbie was followed by Sharon, Curtis and the baby Sandy. Together they built a life. In 1966 the family moved to Loveland. Barbara was a member of Trinity Baptist Church where the family attended for years. Barbara was a Sunday school teacher, Children’s choir director and member of the church choir. Barbara and her friends sang as a group named the Trinitets for many years.

Barbara was a wonderful Mother and Grammy and Grammy the Great. She was wonderful to all of her extra family members too! Her life revolved around her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren and Great Greats.

In 1989 Barbara married Frank Nolin and they celebrated 26 years together.

Barbara was active in Foundations Church Golden Rock group and served as the “Communion Lady” for the church. She would plan her schedule around her church responsibilities. Barbara took care of everyone in her life. She will be missed! Barbara was a proud active member of the Sons of Norway Stein Fjell Lodge. She was awarded Viking of the Year in 2005. Her pride and joy was the Stein Fjell Scandinavian Dinner where she loved helping make it a success. She would schedule her life around the activities of the Lodge too.

Barbara is survived by: Daughter Sharon Cruz, Son Curtis Miller (Kristine), Daughter Sandra Leonardi (Kevin Cardinal) and Son-in- Law Gregg Perry (Debbie).

Grandchildren: Daniel McGee (Micah), Heidi McGee (Kris Horton), Christopher Toombs, Sarah Toombs, Justin Miller (Yesica), Jonathan Miller (April), Nicole Hill (Andrew), Jesse Pfalzgraff (Katie), Heather Calvin (Jeremiah Welch), Alvin Perry, Cassidy Galbraith and Amanda Flores (Ian Webb), Heather Chappell (Scott)

Preceding her in Death: Her daughter Debora Miller Perry, Husband Frank Nolin, Sister Doris Garber, Brothers James Leroy Casady and Vernon Casady and Parents James & Lillian Casady.
