Beverly Jean Rook

Beverly Jean Rook, 86, of Boulder CO, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2020 at her home. She was born Beverly Jean Teague July 29, 1933 in Iowa City, Iowa. She met Richard Rook in a sociology class at the University of Iowa and they were married on 2/14/1954. After Dick was discharged from the service they moved to Illinois. Bev left the University of Iowa early to raise a family. She continued her education at the University of Colorado and received a bachelor’s and a master’s degree. Bev worked at two nursing homes as the Social Service Director. She loved to travel and had an adventurous spirit. She was a lifelong volunteer and made a positive contribution to her community. Bev is survived by daughters; Linda Rook and Mary Vaughters (David), Grandchildren; Warren Johnson, Kaylee Vaughters, Madison Vaughters. She was proceeded in death by husband Richard Rook, daughter Barbara Rook and granddaughter Renee Rook. The family wishes to thank the staff at Compassionate Hospice for the exceptional care. Per her request, there will be no memorial service. Please leave a fond memory of Bev.
