Bruce Hubert Majerus

On July 1,2022, Bruce Hubert Majerus died peacefully at the home of his daughter, Susan Browne, in Fort Lupton, Colorado where he had been living the past 8 months.

Bruce was born November 1, 1941 in Red Wing, Minnesota, the oldest son of Vincent Majerus and his wife, Doreen Hart.

Bruce served his country from 1959 to 1962 as a soldier in the United States Army, most of the time stationed in Germany.

His working life was spent in the trucking industry as an over-the-road truck driver.  He was owner/operator of Majerus Trucking, Woodbine, Iowa, where he lived for many years.

Bruce was a big friendly guy who had many friends. Bruce could fix just about anything: your car, your toaster, your watch, and most anything in-between.  He had a "green thumb" and could grow a fine garden. 

In his younger years, when his knees were good, Bruce was a terrific dancer. He could cha-cha, tango, rhumba, polka, or waltz with grace and ease, having learned at Arthur Miller Dance Studio. 

He loved motorcycles and in the later years of his life, Bruce loved to ride his Spyder, especially along the river and to the Willow. 

He will be fondly remembered by Susan and his grandchildren for raising chickens and the abundance of eggs they produced.

Bruce is survived by his children; Susan Browne and Lee Majerus (Kimberly), and their mother, Lois Petty: his seven grandchildren, Aaron Browne (Darryon), Luke Browne (Allison), Jacob Browne, Charlotte Browne (Alex), Matthew Browne, Katie Majerus and Nicholas Majerus.

He is also survived by his step-daughters, Kendra Norgard and Theresa Houston, his step-grandchildren, Joshua Jacobsen, Jeremy Jacobsen (Sarah) and Brandon Workman and step-great granddaughter Skylar and step-great grandson, Micah.

His siblings; Melanie Ashen, Mark Majerus and Merilyn Smolinski (Bob) also survive.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonita Majerus and his parents, Vincent and Doreen Majerus.

A memorial service will be held at St. Williams Catholic Church on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at 7:30pm. A service with military honors will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado on October 14, 2022 at 10:15am.
