Caroline V. Abeyta passed away on July 11, 2026, at the age of 87 in Alva, Oklahoma. She was a long-time resident of Brighton, Colorado. She was born February 14, 1939, in Hudson, Colorado and was brought up in one of the 6 historical adobe house colonies for farm workers for the Great Western Sugar Company of Brighton.
Caroline graduated from Ft. Lupton High School in 1958. She was married to Dan Abeyta on February 7, 1959, in Brighton, where they resided with their 3 children.
She worked for law enforcement for 28 years in Adams County, Colorado, and was an election judge for the county. She loved cross-stitch, needlepoint, knitting, crocheting, playing the piano, and working in her garden.
Preceding her in death are her parents and 11 siblings. Caroline is survived by her children, Debbie (John) Wiebener of Alva, Oklahoma, Jeffrey Abeyta of Brighton, Colorado, and Brian Abeyta of Brighton, Colorado; her grandchildren, Alexandra Abeyta, Erika (Ben) Allen, and Neriah (Taylor) Abeyta; great grandchildren, Adalayde and Arlo, along with many numerous nephews and nieces, and many friends.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
