Charles Arthur Willman
Charles Arthur "Charlie" Willman, 75, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026, in Aurora, Colorado.
Charlie was born on April 28, 1951, in Riverton, Wyoming, to William “Bill” and Naomi “Jean” Willman, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Harold Willman.
He is survived by his sisters, Linda (Willman) Oetken of Sheridan, Wyoming and Joann (Willman) Arnold and her husband, Matt Arnold, of Billings, Montana. He is also survived by his nephews, Michael Oetken, Heath Oetken, and Reese Oetken and his nieces, Stacey (Arnold) Scott, Kimberly Arnold and Kody Willman along with numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
Charlie grew up in Riverton, Wyoming. He graduated from Riverton High School in 1969 before earning his bachelor's degree with honors from the University of Wyoming in 1973. He continued his education at the Arizona State University’s Thunderbird American Graduate School of International Management, graduating in 1975.
Following college, Charlie began his career in Wyoming, working for several oil and gas companies as well as a uranium mining company. In 1985, he moved to Colorado, where he built a successful career with several trust companies specializing in the administration of retirement plans. He retired in 2016 after many years of dedicated service.
Baseball was one of Charlie's lifelong passions. He was a talented player and loved the game from his days in Little League through Babe Ruth baseball and continued in adult slow-pitch softball leagues. Charlie also gave back to the sport by coaching Babe Ruth baseball, sharing his knowledge and love of the game with younger players.
Charlie was a wonderful neighbor, often showing up with breakfast burritos or donuts to share and was always willing to lend a tool or helping hand. He was also a great friend, hosting dinners, meeting for lunch, going to the shooting range and teaching shooting skills. Charlie even traveled to Thailand to visit a dear friend.
Family was important to Charlie. He enjoyed traveling with his sisters and visiting with them on their every Sunday morning video calls where he would share his latest thrift store finds. As an uncle, he was fun-loving and generous. He introduced his nieces and nephews to new music, taught them to enjoy shooting sports, and had a wicked sense of humor. His kindness, humor, and genuine interest in others left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Charlie will be remembered for his generosity, his quick wit and his loyalty to family and friends. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
