Charles "Chas" Sauer Obituary

Chas was born in Syracuse, New York to James Sauer and Margaret Ludwig on June 14, 1975 and passed away December 18, 2020, in Denver, Colorado. He was the oldest of five siblings.

He lived his early childhood in Syracuse, New York and later traveled the United States with his dad, and two siblings. During that time he acquired skills in numerous trades. That is how he came to Colorado and met, April, the love of his life. They later married on September 22, 2001.

His home was literally his castle. Chas and April purchased April’s grandparent’s house and made it their home for sixteen years. They worked together to establish a warm and welcoming environment for all. He treasured and valued his family by always being active and present in family life. You could always find him working and improving their home. His favorite spot and where everyone could find him was in the backyard cooking on his grill and listening to music. He loved making people laugh by telling his corny jokes, throwing fireworks into the fire pit when no one was looking and he was always laughing and grinning from ear to ear.

Friends and family were always welcome into their home by Chas with a big inviting smile and making sure he made everyone feel at home. He loved food and cooking, music, playing his guitar, Jimi Hendrix, having a drink, family camping trips to Lake McConaughy in Nebraska, going to the shooting range, fishing any lake he could find and traveling to numerous places with family and friends.

Chas is survived by his wife April, his daughter, Autumn (15) and his son Logan (13). Mother Peggy of Syracuse NY; Survivors include five siblings, Karl, Taylor, Chucky, Alex and Crystal. He was a bright light and so loved by his extended family in Colorado; Mother-in Law, Bernadette, sisters and brother-in-laws, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and friends. Chas is preceded in death by his father James. He will always be greatly loved and will be extremely missed by his extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends in Syracuse, New York and Baltimore, Maryland.
