Christine Long Obituary

Chris was born on November 15,1948 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Shortly after her birth she was adopted by two loving parents, Morris & Bessie Poland. She was an only child.

She grew up in the Indianapolis area & graduated from Manual High School in 1967. She was a cheerleader & enjoyed dance.

She married soon after high school & gave birth to her only child, Erika. Not long after that she got divorced.  In 1975 she moved to Colorado & married Mark. They were married for 32 years when Mark passed away in 2007. Our family lived in Denver for a short time before moving to Ft Lupton, CO where she lived the rest of her life.

Chris worked for the statehouse in Indiana after high school. When she moved to Colorado, she managed an apartment complex before changing career paths and landing in the travel/airline business. She retired in 2002, thanks to 9-11.

Chris was very active in Erika’s school activities & sporting events. She made many friends this way.

Chris’ only daughter, Erika, is married to her “favorite son-in-law”, Dave.  She has 2 adult grandchildren, Levi & Alexis (Lexi) & one great grandson, Hudson Isaac Falk, who is 4 months old. She loved spending time with her little family & especially had a great time on our girls' trips to Indiana, Mexico, New York & Nashville, TN. Her favorite place to go was always Louisiana. She looked forward to the heat & humidity.

Chris enjoyed living in the small town of Ft Lupton. This is where she met some of her best friends. She loved being a part of the “Lupton Lovlies”. She enjoyed her church group & all the friends she made there. So many people helped her get to & from church, among other things, when she had to stop driving due to a rare eye condition. She also picked up a love for hiking & adored all her hiking buddies.  She also enjoyed, taking long walks around her town, going to the rec center with friends & playing cards with her neighbor.  She also enjoyed cooking & was an excellent cook at that.

Chris was a giver & loved with her whole heart. One of her & Erika’s dear friend, Lee Ann, said, “Chris took me in when I was vulnerable, beaten down, sad & hopeless. She completely opened up her heart & her home to me. I got to see firsthand the love she showed as a friend, as a mother, as a grandmother, as a mother-in-law, as a sister-in-law & as a dog mom. Her love was transcending, freely given & limitless. She could turn any bad day around.” Chris loved her fur babies like her family.

Chris is survived by her daughter, Erika (Dave), & their children, Levi & Lexi (Louis Falk) & her precious great grandson, Hudson Isaac Falk, her mother-in-law, Nancy Long, brother-in-law Bruce Long & his wife Susan, sister-in-law, Toni (Jim) Forrester, nieces & nephews, cousins & friends, who she cherished.

Chris was a believer in Jesus & went to her eternal home on August 2, 2022, at the age of 73. She will be deeply missed by her family & friends.

 WE LOVE YOU, MOM.
