Christine Marie Petit

Christine Marie “Christi” Petit, born on May 16, 1975, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025, at the age of 50. Her magnetic personality, warmth, and laughter drew people to her and left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Christi’s vibrant spirit first shone on the sports field. She went on to showcase her athletic talents at Anoka-Ramsey Community College where she played for the softball team, managed the basketball team for two years, and built lifelong friendships. Her love of sports remained a constant throughout her life, from cheering on her favorite sports teams to proudly reminding everyone she was the defending 2024 fantasy football champion. Christi was also an extraordinary cook, pouring love into every dish. Her kitchen was the heart of her home, where family and friends gathered to share meals, laughter, and stories. Cooking was more than a hobby for Christi—it was how she expressed her love and brought joy to those around her.

Professionally, Christi began as a business owner in the construction industry but found her true calling as a Paraprofessional and Host Home Provider. For nearly two decades, she opened her heart and home to individuals with disabilities. Christi's selfless service left an indelible mark on her community and the lives she touched.

Christi's legacy is one of love, laughter, and selflessness. She will be remembered for her quick wit and her ability to make anyone smile. Her humor was a source of light in dark times, bringing laughter and relief to any situation. Christi’s kindness was evident in her willingness to always offer a helping hand or a listening ear. Her love truly knew no bounds.

Christi is survived by her wife, Kelli Petit; mother, Catherine Petit; her sister, Cheri (Chris) Brennan; niece, Julia Birkholtz; nephew, Tyler (Ashleigh) Birkholtz; and many aunts and uncles. She is preceded in death by her father, Thomas Petit, who she cherished deeply. It brings peace to her loved ones knowing that she is now reunited with him. As we reflect on Christi’s life, we are reminded of the profound impact one person can have on so many. She will be deeply and forever missed, and we take comfort in knowing that her life was filled with purpose and that she has found peace. Though she has left this world, her spirit remains a guiding light, reminding us to love generously, laugh often, and live selflessly, just as she did.
