Christopher Don Gonzales passed away on October 8, 2025, at the age of 66, surrounded by his loving family. Chris was born in Pomona, California to Manual and Gerda Gonzales upon their return from military service. He was raised in Commerce City, CO where he would later build a life of his own, raising his children in the same community. For nearly two decades Chris faithfully worked as a custodian for the local school district where his children and stepchildren attended. He would later move to Hudson, CO where he would live until his passing, enjoying a second career as a painter.
A true outdoorsman, Chris found peace and joy in nature. He loved fishing, hunting, hiking, and camping—activities he often shared with his father, brother, children, and many friends. Chris loved music and you would rarely find him without a radio or guitar nearby.
Above all, Chris had a deep and abiding love for his Savior, Jesus Christ. His greatest desire was for others to experience the same transformative relationship with Christ that shaped the later years of his own life. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Hudson for many years, where he found fellowship, purpose, and a spiritual home.
Chris will be remembered for his strong work ethic, honesty, integrity, and loving spirit. He is survived by his children, Cody and Jennifer Gonzales; four beloved granddaughters; siblings, Michelle, Mari, and Timothy; nephew, niece, great nephew and two great nieces.
