Christopher St. Cyr Obituary

Christopher Michael St. Cyr, Lieutenant Colonel, Air Force (Retired) age 62 of Brighton, Colorado passed away on November 4th, 2025.

Born on December 11th, 1962, in Framingham, Massachusetts to Willard and Lucille St. Cyr, lived a life defined by service, honor, and love. His childhood was spent in Holliston, Massachusetts, where he graduated from Holliston High School in 1981 with the dream of attending the Air Force Academy. While at the Academy, he excelled in academics, gymnastics, and received his Bachelor of Science in Astronautical Engineering in 1985.

He attended pilot training at Williams Air Force Base in Arizona, where he met his wife Tina. After graduating in June 1986, he received his first assignment as a KC-135 pilot at Kadena AB in Okinawa, Japan. Chris and Tina spent 3 years in Japan, before being stationed at Seymour Johnson AFB in Goldsboro, North Carolina, where Chris began flying the KC-10. He completed his active-duty service in 1992 and continued flying the KC-10 in the Air Force reserves beginning in 1994 at McGuire AFB in New Jersey. During his career as a KC-10 pilot, he flew numerous worldwide operational missions, including Operations DESERT SHIELD and DESERT STORM. He also led his squadron’s KC-10 flight crews on over 42 combat and combat support missions in support of ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM, SOUTHERN WATCH, and NOBLE EAGLE. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1981 to 2014, completing 33 years of faithful service to our nation.

In 1993, Chris was hired by ASA, a regional airline based out of Atlanta, Georgia. He later flew for Leisure Air, a charter airline, flying the DC-10 for a year. His dream to fly for a major airline was achieved in 1995, when he was hired by United Airlines. There, he flew the Boeing 737 and Airbus. He was an Instructor Pilot at United’s Flight Training Center.  This is where he thrived and was the happiest. He loved the environment and the people he worked with.

Chris was known for his love of projects and could always be found in his workshop tinkering with something or dreaming up a new idea. He was detail-oriented and meticulous with every aspect of the work he touched.

Chris is survived by his wife of 39 years, Tina; children Timothy and Brittany Kaman (Cameron); parents Willard and Lucille; brother Mark; grandchildren Colton, a baby girl who arrives in January 2026. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. on Monday, November 17th, 2025, at The United States Air Force Academy Community Chapel, 5134 Cathedral Drive, USAFA, CO 80840, followed by a graveside service at the USAFA Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Gary Sinise Foundation in Chris’s memory.

To attend the Funeral Service at the Air Force Academy please read the following carefully:

All guests must register AT LEAST 24 hours prior to the event. Guests under the age of 18 (and 18-year-old students with D20 student IDs) do not need to request visitation access. Any individual 18 or older will need to do the pre-registration online.  Specific information regarding foreign nationals:  Foreign Nationals must come in office for a pass to obtain base access.  The guest, with a physical passport or a form from the TSA website, must still arrive at the Pass and Registration Office (PRO) in person to receive the visitor’s pass. This can be done prior to the event start date.  The PRO is located outside the south gate off of I-25 (exit 150).

Upon approval (approved message), visitor passes are automatically uploaded onto their driver’s licenses.  The gates will scan their DL’s and verify their DL is valid and matches the person. Registered guests may enter through the north or south gates.

If anyone has issues with receiving an approval message (they receive “error” messages or never receive a message back at all),  Please re-apply, if they still do not receive approval, they will need to go to the Pass & Registration Office (PRO) outside of South Gate to get a physical pass for the day of their event.

Online registration can be done only with a REAL ID CARD. Unfortunately, all guests without a REAL ID CARD must come in office. Please have guests bring a valid form of ID and please reference TSA website for acceptable forms as we are a federal base.

NOTE:  The trusted traveler program is still in effect.  If someone is traveling in the same car as a DoD ID card holder, they do not have to complete the registration process and can proceed through the north or south gate.

To register to attend the funeral service, please contact Tabor Funeral Services and Cremations to receive access to the registration link.
