July 17, 1957 – November 20, 2024
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Cindy, 67, of Brighton, CO on November 20, 2024. A devoted mother, grandmother, teacher and friend, Cindy lived a life of deep faith and joy.
Cindy was born on July 17th, 1957, to the late Knut and Elma Anderson of Sioux Falls, SD. She spent her childhood in Sioux Falls and was the youngest of 6 kids. She lived in Tucson, AZ (where her children were born), in Rapid City and Pierre, SD, Omaha Nebraska and Brighton, Colorado (where she retired to be close to her grandchildren). Each held a special place in her heart.
She was an Educator, dedicating her life to teaching, not only in the classroom but through the way she lived – with kindness, patience, and a listening ear for everyone she met.
She found delight in a cup of coffee, traveling, shopping, happy hours and journaling. From these journals you can tell the moments with family and friends filled her soul. Cindy had a gift for making people feel seen and celebrated and her presence was a source of comfort and encouragement to all who knew her.
Cindy in survived by her son Nicholas Bengs, her daughter Stephanie Bengs and her son-in-law, Chad Murray as well as her cherished grandchildren Jameson and Reagan Murray as well as her nephews she considered brothers (Robbie, Randy, Rory, Ronnie and Rick Anderson), nephews Tim Pesicka, Richie Anderson and her niece Melissa Anderson of Sioux Falls. She leaves behind a legacy of grace and unwavering love – one that will continue to shine through the lives of her family and all who were blessed to know her.
A celebration of life will be held on July 12, 2025, at 11am at Tabor-Rice Funeral Home in Brighton, CO. There will be a luncheon to follow at the Alli Center in Brighton, CO.
