Cynthia “Cindy” Anne Gaertner
Cindy was born in Prince George’s County, Maryland – the only child of Paul Gaertner and Dorathy Beyerchen.
Cindy’s father was in the Air Force, so she spent her childhood in Germany, Texas and Colorado.
She attended Metro State College and the University of Colorado, graduating with a degree in English. She lived in Boston and Los Angeles briefly before returning to Denver.
Music was her over arching passion and she played bass in several bands, including the Chelsea Girls and Blah Blah Blah, among others. She was always happy to attend concerts and loved being introduced to new music. Cindy was also an avid Rockies, Avalanche and Broncos fan.
Most of her career was spent working in IT for several companies including Sun Microsystems, Arapaho House, and Matrix Capital Bank. However, she ended her career as a Senior Management Analyst with the City and County of Denver.
While working at Arapahoe House, she met her long-time partner Arthur M. Hingerty. They shared a passion for music – from operas at the Ellie to local bands at the Lion’s Lair. They also shared a love of animals, having multiple cats and dogs over the years. Most of them were rescued from the alley.
She is survived by family in-laws, and an amazing circle of friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held, starting with visitation at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, December 5, 2025, at the Tabor Funeral Home, 75 S. 13th Avenue, Brighton, CO 80601. A private reception will be held at the Alli Event Center after the celebration.
