Cynthia Anne Ivie, a woman of profound faith and an unbridled adventurous spirit, passed away on March 7, 2026. Born on November 11, 1972, in Salem, Oregon, Cynthia’s life was defined by her love for the horizon and the peace she found in the great outdoors.
A traveler at heart, Cynthia’s most cherished memories were made on the move. In her younger years, she famously traversed the country from coast to coast in her beloved '77 Volkswagen bus, a vehicle that perfectly matched her free-spirited nature. In recent years, her love for travel took her to the sea; she delighted in cruising to foreign destinations, most recently enjoying a memorable seven-day voyage this past June with her mother to Puerto Rico, Grand Turk, and the Cayman Islands—a trip that brought them both immense joy and lasting memories.
Her deep faith was the engine of her life, guiding her with grace and strength through every season. Whether she was navigating a mountain pass in her VW or looking out over the ocean, Cynthia lived with a sense of wonder that inspired everyone who knew her.
Cynthia’s legacy lives on through her family, who were the center of her world. She is survived by her devoted parents, Karyn and David Ivie; her sister, Kristine Ivie; her beloved children, Randy Ivie and Savannah Ivie-Akers; and her grandmother, Janet Hamilton, who is 98 years young. While we mourn her absence here, we take comfort in knowing she has reached her final destination and is joyfully reunited with the loved ones who went before her.
