Dallas Cross Obituary

Dallas Loyd Cross

Dallas Loyd Cross was born on the family farm in Fort Lupton, Colorado on October 15, 1929, to Loyd and Helen Cross.

Dallas (Sonny) had four siblings: Ray, Clarence, Hazel and Goldie. Later in life, he met Doris Moorehead in Prospect Valley, Colorado, and the two were married for twenty-seven years and had three daughters, Carol Colleen, Carla Lynn and Cheryl Kay.

For work, Dallas delivered milk, and worked on the railroad, but his true passion was truck driving. He drove for Denver Feed Co. for thirty-five years, working 80-hour weeks at times. After truck driving, he became an EMT in Brighton, which he retired from shortly after. After retirement, Dallas traveled the country, often being gone for a month at a time.

Dallas was strong in his faith and loved his church and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He truly did not have a lazy bone in his body.

Dallas passed away at 95 years young. He is survived by, his daughters, Carol Colleen (Martin) Pope, Carla Lynn Fries, and Cheryl Kay (Phil) Esparza. By seven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents. By two brothers and two sisters. His wives, Doris and Loretta. By a grand-daughter, Rochelle Rabas, and grandson, Baby Esparza, also by his special friend, Gleva.
