Long time Brighton resident, Daniel Dale Ogilvie, passed away June 22, 2019 at home surrounded by his children. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lillian Rose (Caranci) Ogilvie in 2005. Also preceding him was a daughter-in-law, Candice Ogilvie, and granddaughter Tamara Ogilvie. He is survived by brother Ken Ogilvie, and four children Cheryl Knoll, Lily (Cleon) Roberts, Daniel David Ogilvie, and Rose Mary Ogilvie (John Croce), six grandchildren; Richelle (Knoll) Strohl, Chandra (Knoll) White, Dale Knoll, Bonnie (Roberts) Chavez, Kaade Roberts and William Cartwritght and Jody Sater; twelve great-grandchildren.
Daniel was born September 23, 1925 on his family’s farm near Fort Lupton to Lorimer and Corabelle Ogilvie. Daniel attended Independence Country School and Brighton High School. He joined the Marines in 1942 and served on the Pacific front through World War II. He was a farmer, truck driver, and business owner. Daniel and Lillian enjoyed their years together traveling the country, watching Bronco’s Football on Sunday, and spending quality time with children, family, and friends.
A memorial service for Daniel is Thursday, June 27th, at 5:00 p.m. at Tabor Funeral Home in Brighton, Colorado.
