Dave Cade

Obituary

Dave Cade, 73, of Brighton, Colorado, entered the gates of heaven on October 29, 2021.  He was born in Clarinda, Iowa on March 19, 1948, to Warren and Ruth Cade.

Dave graduated from Brighton High School in 1968 and then attended Iowa Western Community College in Clarinda, Iowa.  Being a true patriot, Dave joined the United States Navy, which included an eighteen-month tour in Viet Nam.  After an honorable discharge from the Navy, Dave returned to Brighton where he briefly worked for Safeway before beginning a thirty-five-year career with Excel Energy.

Dave was known for many things, especially his love for his country, his family and service to others.  He was abundantly gifted with a quick wit and a sense of humor that he shared freely with everyone he met.  He joyfully served his community in many capacities through Almost Home, The Jaycees, various school committees as well as many church positions throughout the years.

His smile and good-natured spirit will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Dave is survived by his one and only true love, his wife of 46 years Dawn, his sons; Troy (Mary) and Trevor (Jessie) all of Brighton, Colorado.  Dave was a proud papa to Paxton, Karson, Trey and Gage Cade, Mari and Cory O’Brien as well as Madelyn Gabriel, who all affectionately called him “The Candy Man”.

Dave was preceded in death by both of his parents and his brother Mike.
