Dave Lee Lavanway, 84, of Hudson, Colorado, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025. He was born on August 4, 1941, in East Jordan, Michigan, where he was raised and graduated from High School.
Following his graduation, Dave pursued training and education to earn several certificates and licenses, leading to a lifelong career as a mechanic. His passion for cars eventually brought him to Colorado, where he opened Pit Stop Enterprises in Denver, a shop that specialized in caring for Alfa Romaos racing cars. It was through this work that he met the love of his life, Deborah. The two were married on June 2, 1991, and built a life together filled with love and shared passions.
Dave was a man of adventure and curiosity. He loved racing Alfas, and his enthusiasm extended to the skies as well. He trained at Buckley Air Force Base to become a pilot and took great joy in flying planes. Dave was also a Mason who recently celebrated 50 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis, his brother Steve Lavanway, and his sister Nancy. He is survived by his devoted wife, Deborah Lavanway, his daughter, Susan, along with loving family and friends who will deeply miss him.
Dave will be remembered for his mechanical skill, adventurous spirit, and the love he shared with those closest to him.
