David Crow Obituary

David Harold Crow, age 83, passed away on June 6, 2026, in Gillette, Wyoming. In his final days he spent them doing what he loved, preparing to take a road trip with his great grandson and wife.

Born on October 4, 1942, in Portland, Oregon, Dave was the son of Harold David Crow and Ruth D. Crow. He was raised in Boulder, Colorado, where he graduated from Boulder High School with the Class of 1961. Shortly after graduation, Dave began a remarkable life of service to his country, serving in the United States Air Force and later in the Army National Guard, dedicating over four decades of military service from 1961 until 2002. After his time overseas, Dave then returned and worked as a sheriff's deputy for Boulder County.

Following his military career, Dave built a respected career as a truck driver. He spent more than 20 years with Dairy Farmers of America, where he safely navigated countless miles on both local and long-haul routes. Known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and quiet determination, Dave took great pride in providing for his family. He retired in 2006 after a lifetime of service, hard work, and dedication.

Dave's greatest joy in life was his family. He was married to Julie Crow in 1968, with whom he was blessed with two daughters, Theresa and Heather. Later he married Karen Kennedy in 1984 and the couple settled in Fort Lupton, Colorado. Through this union, Dave welcomed Karen's children, Becky and Joel Kennedy, into his heart and loved them as his own. Whether attending sporting events, taking the time to work on projects, sitting through countless concerts, building legos or playing hundreds of games of Candy Land, Dave was a constant source of love, encouragement, and support for his children and grandchildren. His family knew him as their biggest fan and steadfast champion.

When he was not spending time with loved ones, Dave enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He could often be found watching James Bond movies, bowling in local leagues, singing in his church choir, volunteering in his community, helping with Awanas and Vacation Bible School programs. As well as traveling on road trips with Karen, reading historical and mystery novels, or working on a puzzle. His kind heart, generous spirit, and unwavering faith touched the lives of many and left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Dave is survived by his beloved wife, Karen Kennedy; daughters Theresa Crow, Heather Franz, and Becky Kennedy; grandchildren Austin Crow, Meghan Elhaouari, and Logan Crow-Franz; great-grandson Andre Elhaouari; several cousins; and many extended family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold David Crow; his mother, Ruth Garrison; step-siblings;his first wife, Julie Crow; and his son, Joel Kennedy.
