David Brian Kremheller
December 9, 1947-March 12, 2021 (age 73)
David Brian Kremheller passed away peacefully on Friday, March 12, 2021, while in hospice care after a long illness due to Alzheimer’s disease.
Dave was born in Detroit, Michigan and grew up on a flower farm. He was Valedictorian of his high school class of 1966 and received a B.S. in Geology from Michigan Tech University. He moved to Colorado and married Dianna Templeton in 1977. They lived in Henderson and raised two children, Adrian (daughter) and Ryan (son). Dave and Dianna were married for 43 years.
He worked as a geophysicist and photogrammetrist. He loved being outdoors and physical exercise, including lifting weights, push-ups and pull-ups, riding bikes, hiking, and playing tennis. He enjoyed growing tomatoes, reading, and watching Westerns. He loved snowball fights, pillow fights, and playing with his grandchildren. He always looked forward to family road trips and annual mountain getaways to view the fall aspens. In his later years, he found joy working outside-pulling weeds, raking leaves and shoveling snow.
He was a quiet, reserved, and gentle soul. Family was the most important thing in his life. He is survived by his wife Dianna, daughter Adrian Sparrow (Barry Martin), grandchildren Asher (14) and Elin (11), and son Ryan Kremheller (Jessica) and grandson Conrad (2).
He was raised by his grandmother May Evans and born to his mother Virginia Fifield. His family included a younger brother Paul and a deceased baby sister Nancy. In 2019, it was discovered that his father was Irish-born John Henry Conlan. Dave also had seven half siblings-3 brothers, 4 sisters: Daniel (deceased), Patricia, Mary, Michael, Therese, Kevin, and Eileen.
A small private family gathering will be held in April. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to the Alzheimer’s Association (act.alz.org) or Friends of Barr Lake (friendsofbarrlake.org) where Dave enjoyed walks, kayaking the lake and viewing wildlife.
