David Weaver Obituary

David Allen Weaver of Lochbuie, Colorado passed away unexpectedly in his home on Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at the age of 69.

David was born in Hays, Kansas on August 10, 1950, to father Adolph Weaver and mother Frances Aich Weaver. Situated in the middle of five sons and one daughter, David grew up living life to the absolute fullest. He was a gifted musician and played in numerous bands throughout his adolescence and early adult life. His zest for adventure and “life on the road” led him to travel across the country while touring with his band.

Following his time as a musician, David eventually settled down into a long-term career with Adams County in the Road and Bridge department. He spent the remainder of his professional career ensuring that the citizens in his area would remain safe on the roads, regardless of the weather outside.

Second only to his music was David’s lifelong passion for motorcycles. He was one of the biggest Harley Davidson enthusiasts around. One of his greatest accomplishments was the rebuilding of his 1949 Panhead that was featured in a 1989 issue of Easyriders magazine. While he certainly enjoyed the thrill of riding a Harley, David was truly a jack-of-all-trades. He owned and piloted ultralight airplanes, took up martial arts, created beautiful stained glass works of art, and even bungee-jumped out of a hot air balloon.

More important than all of his adventures combined, though, was David’s love for his friends and family. He was absolutely smitten with his three grandchildren and loved hearing stories about their triumphs in life. He delighted in the opportunity to take them out to lunch and watch them spend the gift cards that they would save up from each holiday in anticipation of going shopping with Grandpa Weaver. Not only was David generous with his grandchildren, but also with his friends and family. He never forgot a birthday, and he was renowned for his thoughtful gifts and the meticulous wrapping that he would painstakingly put around each package.

David was preceded in death by his parents and by his brothers Ronald Weaver and Gerald Weaver. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Crystal and Skylar Hoehn; three grandchildren Cooper Hoehn, Brecken Hoehn, and McKenna Hoehn; sister and brother-in-law Christie and Mike Ware; brother and sister-in-law Dennis and Kathy Weaver; brother Brian Weaver; and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as countless friends who he held near-and-dear to his heart.

A Memorial Service for David is planned for Monday, August 10, 2020, at 11:00 am. The Memorial Service will be held at the Tabor-Rice Funeral Home on 75 S. 13th Avenue, Brighton, Colorado.
