Dawn Renee Donaldson
October 29, 1965 ~ January 2, 2024 (age 58) 58 Years Old
Dawn Renee (Budke) Donaldson died unexpectedly on January 2, 2024. She was born October 29, 1965, in Illinois to Kent and Marlene (Parkin) Budke. She is survived by her father Kent (Mary Lou Keayes) Budke and children Nicholas Donaldson, Kaeli (Alex) King and Shaelyn (Spenser) Hang, her long- awaited grandchildren, Mikko, and Leighton King and soon to arrive Baby Hang. Also surviving are her siblings Cami (Chip) Liles, Kevin (Jenny) Budke, and Angela (Jimmie) Barnette. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marlene (Parkin) Budke.
Dawn grew up in Manito, Illinois. Before she started school, Dawn was known to be strong willed, shirtless, and barefoot most of the time. She loved running down the street to our neighbor Mrs. Ethel's house where she was sure to get a cookie or two. Dawn spent the majority of her life in the Denver metro area working in various careers and industries before settling in as Benefits and Compensation Coordinator for Hunter Douglas Window Fashions for 17 years.
Dawn spent her life caring for those around her. She supported her children’s many endeavors, spent all the time she could with her mother, and played dominoes and visited her grandmother (Geneva Parkin) every Sunday. She always made the time and effort to ensure the people in her life knew they were loved.
She loved her children more than life itself and her grandchildren were a great joy to her, although she was also grateful when their parents took them home. She also had a special place in her heart for her pets. Whether it be her first dog Bitsy or one of her best friends and faithful companions, Lily, a long-haired chihuahua. Lily lived to be 13 and Dawn could never quite fill that paw shaped hole she left behind.
Dawn stood as a rock in the family foundation until the last of her days. She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed. Please feel welcome to send any donations in her honor to the Longmont Humane Society 9595 Nelson Road Longmont, CO 80501.
