Delbert Jay Crandall
Dell was born January 16, 1927, to Mary and Red Crandall in Denver, Colorado. He lived with his grandparents until his mother remarried, Pete Nazarenus. They lived on a farm north of Watkins, Colorado.
Dell graduated from Brighton High School in 1994. He started a four generation of Brighton High School graduates. He met and married, Mary Jane Beck in 1950. They raised three children, Pat, Jodi and Mike. They lived in Denver and moved back to Brighton in 1964.
Del owned and operated several different businesses. He built four homes in his spare time. After he lost his wife, he retired and moved to Moab, Utah to follow his dream of archeology. He volunteered at the BLM and spent many adventures looking for petroglyphs with his longtime partner Claudia. Del was also an artist of many talents, and his metal artwork is on display at his favorite gallery (Gallery Moab). He enjoyed their monthly art walks. He was so proud that his work was displayed with so many other talented artists.
Del is survived by his daughter, Jodi (John) and his son, Mike (Sue). Grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His favorite thing to say was "I LOVE MY FAMILY"
