Dennis LeRoy Parrott was born March 24, 1946, in Red Oak, Iowa, to Virgil LeRoy Parrott and Eva Evelyn (Johnson) Parrott. He passed away at home while under hospice care on Monday, May 4, 2020.
Dennis graduated from Oak Park Academy in Nevada, Iowa. He graduated from Milford Technical College, Milford, Nebraska, as a Draftsman in 1966 and a BS in Biology in 1974 from Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska, where he met and fell in love with Barbara Nash. They married on May 21, 1971, in Barbara’s hometown of Cedaredge, Colorado.
Dennis and Barbara lived in Lincoln, Nebraska, until 1981 when they moved to Brighton, Colorado. Dennis worked as a Draftsman, mostly drawing the steel details for bridges and buildings. He loved his work. He also greatly enjoyed spending time in the outdoors with nature whether it was bird watching at Barr Lake or hiking in the mountains. For many years, he was involved with the youth group at church. He loved sharing his vast knowledge of nature from the tiny insects to blooming flowers to the birds in the air. To anyone that would listen, he always had a story to tell.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Barbara Jean (Nash) Parrott; daughter, Katherine Parrott (Ryan) Clarke; son Dennis (Tara Jacobson) Parrott and two grandchildren, Logan and Rebecca.
Dennis was proceeded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be planned and hopefully allowed for later this summer.
