Dennis Weaver Obituary

Dennis Ray (William) Weaver (Blue), Was bort July 29, 1953, in Hays, Kansas. Dennis Joined our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Saturday, December 13, 2025. He passed away peacefully at home with his wife Kathy Weaver by his side.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Kathy Weaver, his sister and brother-in-law Christie and Mike Ware, and his brother Brian Weaver.

Dennis was preceded in death by his father Adolph Weaver, his mother Frances Aich Weaver, and his brothers Ronald Weaver, Gerald Weaver, and David Weaver.

The Weaver family moved to Colorado when Dennis was a Young Boy. He graduated from Adams City High School in 1971. Dennis and Kathy (Fisher) met when he was 17 and Kathy was 13. Dennis waited for Kathy to turn 21 before marrying her. They were married on April 29, 1978. They were together for close to 55 years and kept their vows “till death do us part”.

Dennis was nicknamed Blue because of his strikingly blue eyes. Blue had a big heart and was loved by everyone that knew him. When he spoke to you his voice was soft, calming and he had a sparkle in his eyes that embraced everyone he met.

Dennis spent his younger years enjoying the great outdoors and activities such as rafting, camping, hunting, and fishing. He loved and respected nature. Every spring Adams City High school offered students the opportunity to go on a week-long rafting trip, for several years he was one of the boatmen on the trips.

Dennis and Kathy purchased their home in 1978. They had a few acres of land and over the years provided a home to hundreds of animals. They raised peacocks, pigs, chickens, guineas, goats, cows, cats, and dogs. Over his lifetime they raised more animals, than you can count and Dennis loved them all. Every animal that had the fortune of becoming a member of the Weaver family was truly blessed, they enjoyed a wonderful home filled with love. Dennis and Kathy took pets from friends, as well as strays that came to need a home.

Dennis was a master printer at Hirshfield’s for 25 years. During his time at Hirshfield’s he setup and repaired various printing presses as he was the expert on keeping them running and working properly. After retiring from Hirshfield’s he worked at a local liquor store for another 20 years.

Dennis enjoyed making fireworks and the entire neighborhood knew when he ignited one as they were loud and the ground shook. Dennis had more lives than a cat, he had many encounters with death but it was never his time to go, God saved him so we could enjoy him.
