On Monday, March 23, 2020, Dolores Marie Mascarenas (Loyola), loving mother, grandmother, and sister passed away at her home in Commerce City, Colorado at the age of 67. She was "Lala" to her family and "Dee" to her many friends at work.
Loyola was born in July 1, 1952 in Alamosa, Colorado to Andres and Josephine Martinez. She lived in Minturn, Colorado during her childhood before moving to Denver, Colorado. She graduated from Battle Mountain High School in Minturn in 1970. On November 11, 1978, she married George Mascarenas. They raised one son, Zacharias and a step daughter, Alicia and had two grandchildren, Analeise and Andres, and five step grandchildren, Christina, Desirae, Julio, Isaiah, and Cimmeron; and one step great grandson, Noah.
Loyola was a devout Christian and had a passion for God, her coloring books, and her many pens and markers. She also loved Christian music and her beloved oldies from the 50's and 60's. She had an infectious smile and was compassionate. She was well-loved at Sam's Club where she worked for many years.
Loyola was preceded in death by her father, Andres; mother, Josephine; and sister, Louella Martinez. She is survived by her son, Zacharias (Renell); step daughter, Alicia Torres (Julio); sister, Joan Duran; nieces, Andrea Duran and Angela (Ronnie) Duran-Medrano; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
