Dona Glover Obituary

Dona Jeanne Glover of Fort Lupton, Colorado went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at University Hospital (Aurora) after a short battle with cancer. She was a caring wife, mother, nana, sister, aunt and friend.

Dona was born at Denver General Hospital in Colorado on October 28, 1942 to Alton Reed and Frances (Leach) Reed. She was the fourth of six children. Dona married the love of her life, Jonathan Glover, on November 28, 1964.

She grew up in eastern Colorado and attended schools in Yuma and Akron. Dona graduated from high school in Akron, Colorado in 1960. After high school, she and her late sister Jane moved to Denver. She worked at Western Voice Book Store andmet her husband Jonathan at Baptist Bible Temple.

Jonathan and Dona lived in and raised their four children in Fort Lupton, Colorado. Dona has always loved animals as much as she has loved people. As a family, they raised many animals on their farm and she always had a dog on her lap. When her youngest child started school, she went to work in the kitchen of South Elementary in Brighton, Colorado where she worked for over a decade. She was a skilled homemaker and made it her life’s mission to care for all people she met as if they were her own family. Dona deeply loved her grandchildren and was an active part of their daily lives.

Her gift was her thoughtfulness, gentle spirit, and ability to connect with people. Many people throughout Dona’s life expressed their gratitude for her consistent love and care for them when they were in a time of need. Even up until the day before she died, she was checking in on people. If you knew Dona, there’s a good chance you have one or more of her doilies. She was always crocheting gifts for loved ones.

Dona actively proclaimed her faith in Jesus, and it was important to her that each of her children and grandchildren know Christ as their savior. One of her favorite verses was Jeremiah 29:11, and she was quick to remind others that God has a plan.

Dona is survived by her husband, Jonathan; son, Jon; daughters, Pamela and Connie; son, Mark (Christine); grandchildren; brother, Alton (Nancy); sister, Sharon (Larry); sister-in-law, Shirley and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by both of her parents, two sisters and one brother.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dona's name can be made to the Philippi Freedom Ministry, at PO BOX 552, Chesterfield, MO 63006 USA https://www.philippifreedomministry.org.
