Donald William Rosenbrock

Donald William Rosenbrock, known affectionately as Don or Rosie, passed away on June 26, 2026, in Longmont, Colorado, of natural causes. He was born on March 1, 1937, in Denver, Colorado, and lived a life marked by courage, optimism, and wisdom. He was a Christian, and his faith, steady character, and generous spirit were evident in the way he treated family, friends, neighbors, and everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.

Don grew up farming with his parents in Fort Lupton and attended Fort Lupton High School, where he met Barb, the love of his life. They graduated together from Fort Lupton High School with the class of 1955. They married on September 21, 1958, and began raising a family. He also attended Colorado State University, building on the practical knowledge and strong work ethic that would guide him throughout his life. He spent much of his working years as a farmer and rancher, and he also worked for Great Western Sugar Company and in real estate. Through each chapter of his career, he brought dedication, common sense, and a deep respect for hard work and the land.

Service to his community was an important part of Don’s life. He was active in the Fort Lupton Lions Club, where he served as president, and he also served as president of the Crystal Lakes HOA. He contributed his time and judgment as a board member of the Central Colorado Water Conservancy District and participated faithfully on the finance committee of the First United Methodist Church. Most recently, he served as the resident association president at Brookdale Longmont. In every role he accepted, he was known for his steady leadership, practical insight, and willingness to do what needed to be done.

Don was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara J. Rosenbrock, as well as his son, Roger Rosenbrock. He was also preceded in death by his father, William J. Rosenbrock, and his mother, Helen L. Rosenbrock. He is survived by his daughter, Patty Almeida and her husband Richard; his son, Brian Rosenbrock and his wife Audrey; six grandchildren, Robbie Almeida, Gary Almeida and his wife Joslyn, Nancy Jaquez and her husband Daniel, Darla Maltos and her husband Arturo, Joe Rosenbrock and his wife Mariah, and Kyle Rosenbrock and his wife Jenni; and fifteen great-grandchildren. He leaves behind a family who will long remember his strength, his humor, and the quiet example he set every day.

Those who knew Don will remember that he never met a stranger. He had a remarkable ability to find a connection with every person he met, and he built relationships on genuine interest, kindness, and respect. He loved to fish and enjoyed using every type of rod and reel available, always appreciating the time spent outdoors and the simple satisfaction of the sport. He was also a devoted grandfather who attended his grandchildren’s sporting events wherever they might be, and he took great pride in being present for the moments that mattered to them. He never turned down an invitation, and his willingness to show up for others made him a cherished presence in many lives.

Don also enjoyed collecting guns and took pride in reloading ammunition, a skill he later passed on to his grandson. This was just one more example of the way he shared his interests and knowledge with those he loved. Whether he was working, serving, fishing, or simply visiting with someone he had just met, Don brought warmth, authenticity, and a steady sense of purpose to every setting. His life reflected the values of perseverance, loyalty, and connection, and his memory will remain a blessing to all who knew him.

He will be remembered as a man of strong character, enduring faith, and a generous heart. His family and friends will miss his presence deeply, but they will also carry forward the lessons he taught through his example. Don Rosenbrock lived a full and meaningful life, and his legacy will continue in the family he loved, the communities he served, and the many lives he touched along the way.
