Dorothy Jeanne McCauley

Dorothy McCauley passed away on February 9, 2024, in Broomfield, Colorado. She was 90 years of age. Her passing was peaceful after being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease eight years ago.
Dorothy was the youngest child of William R. & Julia Graves of Brighton, Colorado. Dorothy had an older brother and two younger sisters.
Dorothy was born in Denver and grew up in Brighton, where she remained throughout her adult life. Dorothy graduated from Brighton High School, class of 1951. While attending Brighton High, she met her future husband, James K. McCauley Jr. She and Jim married on August 16th, 1952, in Brighton, CO. They remained devoted to each other until his passing in October of 2020.
Dorothy worked full time at United Power for thirty years until she retired in 1998. While raising their two children, Timothy and Joni, she managed both, work and family. Dorothy and Jim both enjoyed travelling, playing tennis, dining out, but most of all they enjoyed being together.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Jim. Her parents, Bill and Julia Graves. Brother, Billie Lee Graves and sisters, Margie Canis and Alice Coffey. Dorothy is survived by her two children, Timothy (Debbie) of Borger, TX and Joni (Richard) McCauley-Neville, of Lubbock, TX. In addition, she is survived by four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
