AMerican Veteran 11

Duane "Dewy" Ernest Gordon

April 12, 1949 ~ December 26, 2021 (age 72)

Duane “Dewy” Ernest Gordon,

Duane was born on April 12, 1949 in Wray, Colorado to Eugene and Katherine Gordon and was the fourth of six siblings. He passed away on December 26, 2021.

Duane spent the majority of his life in Fort Lupton, Colorado working as a concrete foreman. He also served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. He loved spending time watching sports, riding his Harley Davidson and fishing. One of Duane’s favorite pastimes was watching his two sons, Aaron and Ty, play sports. There was never a game missed when it came to his boys even if that meant he had to drive hundreds of miles. Many times, he would take his friends to the games to watch and brag about his boys. He was a dedicated father and was never afraid to show it.

Duane loved to take his boys fishing in Wyoming on the Platte River, just outside of Saratoga. It was a July 4th tradition with Duanes’ parents, Eugene and Katherine. They would fish, hike, and shoot guns all day and light fireworks every night. Maybe even drink a beer or two!

Dewy also loved spending time with his friends enjoying a cold Bud Light and a cigarette! He loved riding his Harley Davidson with friends and often visited Sturgis for the bike rally. Dewy was never shy when it came to a good game of pool. He competed all over the Denver Metro area and even traveled out of state for competitions.

Duane is survived by his sons, Aaron (Casey, Zach, Spencer) Gordon; Ty (Alyson, Luke, Grace) Gordon; sisters Sandy (Cecil), Connie Cross; his three brothers Jerry, Bruce and Russell (Sharon) Gordon and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by both of his parents.
