Elizabeth I. "Betty" Stine was born in Brighton, Colorado, to Patricio and Majorie Martinez, the eldest of eight siblings. She married John Stine on April 15, 1950.
Raised in Denver, Betty later returned to Brighton, where she spent most of her life. Growing up, she took on a caregiver role for her younger siblings, as her mother faced illness, and her father served in the military. This dedication to family became a defining part of her life.
Betty and John welcomed five children: Gary, Ronnie, Randy, Debra, and John II. While primarily a homemaker, Betty worked at Salud and Tri-County when her youngest child began school, a role in which she took great pride.
Betty cherished time with her family. She loved camping trips when her children were young, and she enjoyed playing Bingo and gambling in Las Vegas and Blackhawk. Known for her cooking and baking, Betty always kept a pot on the stove, welcoming visitors with food and a warm smile. Sharing stories with loved ones was her greatest joy.
She is survived by her children: Gary, Ronnie (Flora), Randy (Karen), and Debra (Jerry); nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, her brother Anthony Martinez, niece Ruby Luna, and many other nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband John, son John II, granddaughter Samantha, sisters Shirley, Patsy, and Dorothy, and brothers Ruben, Leonard, and Leroy.
