Elsie Trunkenbolz Obituary

Elsie was born in Walker, Iowa to Ernest and Mildred Cherry. She was the middle of 3 siblings. Elsie graduated from Brighton High School. She married Frederick Albert Trunkenbolz on November 7, 1944.

Elsie spent much of her life in Brighton. She worked for the Brighton Blade, District 27 Superintendents Office and was bookkeeper for several of the family businesses.

Elsie and Al liked to travel with trips to Australia, New Zeeland, several to Hawaii, and extended tour of Europe. One of the most memorable was a trip to a Alaska with a truck and trailer. They also had numerous cruises including the trip thru the Panama Canal.

In retirement they totally enjoyed their home in Florence, Arizona for 30+ years.

Elsie was a very religious person. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Brighton for 50+ years until its closing. She then felt at home in the Zion Congregational Church in Brighton. Her faith in God was what kept her with us for another 10 years after the fire in Arizona in 2013. Her last days and moments were spent in her home in Brighton as per her wishes. In the final week of here life she got to see her 3 grandchildren 3 of her 4 great grandchildren and her 4 great-great grandchildren.

Elsie is survived by her sons, Jay (Glenda) Trunkenbolz and Jerry (Pam) Trunkenbolz. She was preceded in death by both parents, two brothers, Ernest Joseph, and Charles.
